There are some professionals who are successful in their career without an MBA, but now when they are in their thirties or late forties they want to pursue an MBA degree. At this point of age often a question pop in one's mind and that is am I too old for this Degree?

We have readily heard that if we want to gain knowledge then age is not a big factor. Till the end of one's life we attain knowledge. Even in many colleges there are batches of students who completed their undergraduate programs a decade ago and now they are pursuing an MBA degree. Sources say that there are many B-schools who don't see the age while considering the applicants. These B-schools are deeply interested at the work experience, which is directly linked to the age. These schools look at the maturity level and where you want to be in your career. There are two situations regarding age:

• At times it happens that you are very young and with your highly focused goal can able to create a spark at the work place, and in turn can go further in career than an older guy who just want a MBA degree to fill up something.
• Another important example is of military people who have great leadership qualities as well as experience with little knowledge of business can prove to be beneficial if they can opt for full time program. These people also face the age problem. But other than younger applicant these people have clear cut objectives for achieving the goals. These people are more dedicated to their work and have least interest in partying unlike younger candidates. These people can share their experience at the time of discussion and can also act as mentor for younger batch.

Advantages of Older age over young age:

• The fact is older candidates are more focused on what they want to do after completing the management course.
• Some applicants want to change their job prospective so they want to do.

The students with age especially above 40 should provide a genuine answer in order to get admission as the admission committee will scrutinize the matter deeply.
