Enabling education

Credila's partnership with Aseema focuses on providing quality education to children from marginalized communities, particularly through support for the Aseema Bal Shaikshanik Kendra (ABSK) Igatpuri School. Aseema's student-centered approach, grounded in learning theories by Piaget, Dewey, and Vygotsky, emphasizes collaboration and holistic development. The curriculum includes computer literacy and co-curricular activities like music, arts, and sports, helping students explore their potential across physical, emotional, cognitive, and social levels.

Credila's partnership with the Light of Life Trust (LOLT) through the Anando School Empowerment Programme's; in Karjat, Maharashtra, addresses India's challenge of out-of-school children by creating equitable, student-centered learning environments. The program aims to improve the quality of secondary education and foster stronger collaboration between schools, students, and parents, promoting holistic academic growth and responsible citizenship. Regular supplementary classes in Math and English, alongside opportunities for students to showcase their talents, empower them and build confidence. Continuous monitoring and guidance help the students manage their time effectively, adopt a serious approach to their education, reducing stress and enhancing subject understanding.

Credila's collaboration with Hand in Hand India focuses on supporting historically marginalized and underrepresented communities in Chennai and Bengaluru. Through this initiative, education is leveraged as a powerful tool to uplift these communities by enhancing learning environments, providing academic enrichment, improving infrastructure, and fostering holistic development in government schools. The program aims to promote equitable access to education and empower students to achieve their full potential.

Credila's intervention in partnership with the Centre for Catalyzing Change aims to empower adolescents by providing them with essential knowledge and skills for a healthy, informed life. The initiative leverages the School Health and Wellness Program (SHWP) to instil healthy habits through health and life skills education, while also preparing students for future careers by enhancing their digital and financial literacy. Key objectives include promoting informed health decisions, improving access to health services, preventing child marriages, enhancing digital and financial skills, and improving menstrual hygiene management.

Credila's 21st-Century Readiness Program with Learning Links Foundation focuses on fostering hands-on, self-driven learning among students, with a particular emphasis on empowering girls. The initiative aims to build essential 21st-century skills such as innovation, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, serving students from grades 6 to 9 in nodal and community schools in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts of Telangana, benefiting approximately 1,500 students. Key components include the establishment of STEM tinkering labs, where students are encouraged to explore and innovate, along with guidance from innovation coaches. The program also provides communication skills training and annual innovation fairs to showcase student's projects, promoting creativity and problem-solving.

Credila's intervention with SOS Children's Villages focuses on the holistic empowerment of 178 children and 89 caregivers through the Family Strengthening Program (FSP). This program targets families facing crises or extreme hardships, often leading to child abandonment, particularly among those below the poverty line. By focusing on capacity building for both caregivers and children, the program aims to promote self-reliance and sustainability, ensuring the well-being of children in underprivileged communities. The core objective is to facilitate children's education and prevent dropouts by strengthening family support systems, ultimately enhancing the overall welfare of the community.

Credila's intervention with the Educate Girls-Vidya, aims to improve enrolment, retention, and learning outcomes for girls and children aged 5-14 in the educationally backward district of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. With a focus on empowering young girls, the initiative aims to improve access to education, fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal development. Through the implementation of the Gyan Ka Pitara model, the program builds foundational literacy and numeracy skills in primary grades. The project empowers adolescent girls by establishing the Bal Sabha (Girls’ Council), where they develop leadership and life skills. This project represents a vital step towards breaking the cycle of educational deprivation and promoting gender equity in education, ultimately contributing to the empowerment and upliftment of the community.

Credila, in collaboration with Swades Foundation, is actively addressing the critical challenges faced by rural Maharashtra's schools and aanganwadis, including inadequate water and sanitation facilities and unreliable electricity supply. Solar panels are being installed in 11 aanganwadis and 7 schools to ensure a consistent power supply, while WASH facilities are being established in 3 schools to promote the well-being of students. Additionally, Credila’s focus is to foster a sense of ownership within the community, ensuring that the interventions are sustainable and effectively maintained by local stakeholders. This comprehensive approach aims to empower rural communities, enhance educational opportunities, and support the overall development of students.

Credila, in partnership with the Muktangan Education Trust is enhancing educational opportunities for underprivileged communities in Mumbai through an integrated model of inclusive teacher and school education. This collaboration supports the operation of seven municipal schools serving 4,000 children aged 4 to 16, primarily in the Worli, Prabhadevi, and Parel areas. Utilizing a child-friendly pedagogy rooted in an Active Constructivist Approach, Muktangan fosters cognitive learning by allowing students to build on their previous experiences. The initiative promotes holistic child development, reduces school dropouts, and creates nurturing learning environments while involving all stakeholders to address educational disparities.

Girl Child Empowerment

Credila is partnering with the Seva Sahyog Foundation to implement the Kishori Vikas Prakalp - Urjita Programme in Pune, Maharashtra, aimed at enhancing the physical and mental well-being of 1,096 adolescent girls across 30 vastis. This initiative focuses on nutrition, health, gender education, and personality development, establishing a support system to improve decision-making skills and raise awareness of safety in anti-social situations. By fostering confidence and providing platforms for self-expression, the program empowers these girls to overcome challenges and reach their full potential, ultimately paving the way for a brighter future.

Inclusive Health Care

In response to the alarming projections regarding childhood cancer, Credila has partnered with the Access Life Foundation to support disadvantaged families traveling to major cities like Mumbai and Chandigarh for their child's cancer treatment. This initiative provides essential aid, including lodging, food, transportation, and counselling services, allowing families to focus on their child's care and improving treatment outcomes.

Credila has partnered with Aishwarya Trust in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for the Save Little Hearts project, aiming to reduce the prevalence of congenital heart defects (CHD) in children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through this collaboration, we facilitate screenings and surgical interventions for children diagnosed with CHD, ensuring they receive high-quality medical care. The project also runs screening camps under the RBSK Program at Medical College Hospitals in Tamil Nadu and other locations across India, identifying children in need of surgical care. With a skilled team of surgeons at Aishwarya Trust, we aim to provide life-saving interventions that improve the health and quality of life for these children.

Credila has partnered with the INGA Health Foundation in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to support their mission of creating a cleft-free India. Our intervention addresses craniofacial, cleft and maxillofacial deformities by funding surgeries and raising awareness about these conditions. We aim to provide children with proper treatment, post-surgery care, and reduce the socialn stigma they face, improving their quality of life.

Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Credila has partnered with Muskan Foundation to support children with Multiple Disabilities and Vision Impairment (MDVI) at their centres in Bandra and Panvel, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The program provides specialized services through three core areas: Special Education, Therapies, and Advocacy and Training. With a focus on reintegrating MDVI children into mainstream society, we support 58 children in special education and 108 children in multiple therapies. The initiative also empowers parents with the skills and confidence to address their child’s unique needs, providing holistic support for both the children and their caregivers.
